Anything new on the website will be announced here.

Added RSS support to the weblog code and added RSS discovery meta tags to the weblog and main website pages. Thumbnails are now automatically generated where necessary.

Introduced my first weblog telling of our "adventures" while we're in Spain. Did some restructuring and recoding of the site which resulted in a new News page based on the weblog code. So basically the news page is just another weblog.

Uploaded a new version of DeeEnEs (2.3.30) which fixes a minor problem with the tray icon status. It would continuously flash red after indicating an error if it was not able to contact the server even if it happened only once. It will now show the offline status icon like it should. I also fixed the URL that was opened when choosing Help from the pop-up menu (thanks to all those people that pointed that one out to me).

Uploaded a new version of DeeEnEs (2.3.29) and put a message on the home page asking people to upgrade because the home-made "DDOS attack" on the server was really getting out of hand (several Gigs worth of data in only 10 minutes!). The exact reason is not known and I'm not going to try to figure it out anymore. In a few days this site will only be reachable by the URL www.palacio-cristal.com while the old URL palacio-cristal.com will cease to work thereby cutting off all traffic generated by those old clients that are bringing the server to its knees. The new DeeEnEs client uses a new mechanism which will make it easier for me to control the traffic in the future.

Uploaded a new version of DeeEnEs (2.3.28) which now shows the detected IP address in the tray-icon tooltip as well as the log window. The list of domains was also updated to include the latest entry servergame.org. And thanks to RuX DeeEnEs is now also available in the Catalan language. And last but certainly not least as of today DeeEnEs is released under the GPL!

Reverted color scheme back to normal. Updated the DeeEnEs FAQ a bit and made sure that requests to pages in the old site get redirected to their new counterparts.

Completely unexpected my father passed away yesterday after suffering a massive heart attack at 5 in the morning. When I got to him at 11 o' clock he was already sedated and sleeping in the Intensive Care. Doctors thought him stable at around 2 o' clock in the afternoon and thought it best for us to go home and rest a bit. Once at home we were told to return to the hospital immediately because his situation was worsening rapidly. He had already died when we arrived. I grieve not having been able to see him awake one last time and tell him how much I love him.

After a slight redesign and re-implementing everything using JSP the site is now running on my own personal co-located server. The Photo Gallery now uses JAlbum.

Uploaded version 0.3 of the Nortiake driver which now draws the bars a lot better (but still not perfect) and which periodically resets itself.

Uploaded a new version of DeeEnEs (2.3.27) to fix a tiny bug which causes mayor problems. Due to a bug that has existed for some time some older versions of DeeEnEs have effectively started a DDOS attack on my website (laugh all you want, 10GB of traffic each week is not funny! Ok ok, so it is funny, but it is still a big problem that has to be solved). So everybody please upgrade now!

Uploaded version 0.2 of the Nortiake driver which now works with the 0.4.4 stable version of lcdproc.

Added a new section to the site for lcdproc where I currently keep a driver I wrote for the Noritake K612A4 VFD that I own.

Uploaded a new version of DeeEnEs (2.3.26) to fix a bug in the web IP detection that was affecting a lot of people suddenly. While I was at it I also added quite a number of new domains I found were missing from DeeEnEs' list.

Uploaded a new version of DeeEnEs (2.3.25) which adds the DynDNS domains (isa-geek) that were still missing. Also took the opportunity to change the layout and coloring of the site a bit. Now uses a lot more CSS and should also work on Mozilla/Netscape 7 browsers.

Uploaded two new language DLLs, both for Portuguese (thanks to Nuno Miguel Almeida Silva and Joaquim Alberto Vasconcellos).

Uploaded a new version of DeeEnEs (2.3.22) which adds the latest DynDNS domains and repairs a bug in the HTTP protocol handling. Update: I want to give thanks to the enormous amount of people that warned me that the ZIP file I uploaded was corrupted. It's flattering to know so many people actually pay attention to the things I do *grin*.

Uploaded the Japanese and traditional Chinese language DLLs for DeeEnEs (thanks to Yasushi Osada and Stark Wong).

Uploaded a new version of DeeEnEs (2.3.20) which repairs the /AUTOEXIT option and uploaded a Spanish language DLL as well (thanks to Josh Feldman).

Uploaded the Italian language DLL for DeeEnEs (thanks to Flavio Boniforti).

Uploaded the French language DLL for DeeEnEs (thanks to Olivier Sannier). Who's next to be mentioned in the DeeEnEs hall of fame (the credits)? Made a small page to tell people how they can contribute a DeeEnEs translation.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.3.19) that supports a localized user interface (thanks to Bjrn Andersen). Only available in German at this moment but more languages are sure to come.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.2.18) that supports the 14(!) new DynDNS domains and fixes a bug when deleting accounts.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.2.17) fixing a bug in the accounts dialog (thanks to Wayne Allen for finding this one).

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.2.16). It has several new domains, better error handling and supports DynDNS' custom domains.

Made donations using PayPal possible.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.1.15) that sports a new accounts dialog layout and has several changes to make it use as little CPU time as possible.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.1.14) that fixes a memory leak and adds a small feature to the version check mechanism.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.1.13) that fixes a major bug when using Web Based IP checks.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.1.12) that now support the new and improved DynDNS update protocol.

Added a My Camera page with information about the Nikon Coolpix that I own and my experiences with digital photography. It also contains downloads for the drivers and the software needed to plug a Coolpix into a computer.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.0.11) fixing a bug in the Web based IP checking.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (2.0.9) adding Web based IP checking and fixing some bugs. Uploaded version 2.0.10 some time later adding a minor feature.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (1.5.8) adding a new domain name and made the tab key to work in the dialogs.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (1.5.7) adding the 3 new domain names.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (1.5.6) fixing a problem with the version checking mechanism.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (1.5.5) adding new and much nicer icons and forced monthly updating.

Updated my mobile phone number on the Contacts page and removed the old e-mail addresses because people kept using them even though they were marked "OLD".

Updated Contacts page. It now includes my XOIP number and it distinguises between my current and old E-mail addresses.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (1.5.4).

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (1.5.3). Oh yes, it's my birthday today and still sick. Oh what joy is life. At least I got a call from my girlfriend, now if she would just live bit closer (she's Colombian).

Oh yes, great! Today is Queen's Day and I'm sick at home :-(.

Uploaded the latest version of DeeEnEs (1.5). And an even newer version (1.5.1) shortly after that.

Uploaded two updated version of DeeEnEs today. Version 1.3 fixed a bug that I introduced into 1.2 yesterday. Version 1.4 adds automatic version checking so people will get a message to upgrade if I make such a mistake again ;-)

Uploaded an updated version of DeeEnEs. Changed the menu-handling somewat so Netscape users can actually use it. For one reason or another the fold-out menu doesn't want to work with Netscape 6 or Mozilla Seamonkey M15. The "places" section in "My Photos" is now shown in two columns, it looks better that way and allows for more places to be shown at once.

A new program to update dynamic DNS accounts DeeEnEs can now be downloaded from the website. Made a first stab a page for this new program, but it still needs a help page. I changed the contents menu on the left again, it now opens and closes any submenus dynamically, but the behaviour I've written to change the background color of the item still doesn't work the way it should.

Easy Accent can finally be downloaded from the website. Updated it's pages a bit as well although a lot remains to be done to make everything complete.

Well this is it. I finally decided to publish my new site. As we can see if we look at this page I started designing this site quite some time ago. More than 2 years actually! And then I just started doing other things and I just let this new design collect dust in a manner of speaking. But since I bought myself a digital camera (a Nikon Coolpix 950) in November last year I have steadily been putting more and more pictures on the website, stashed in some corner with no link to them. So this called for another decision to be made: would I or would I not allow the whole world to see all the pictures I've made? Well the result you can see right here on the "My Photos" page.

So is the site finished? Well, of course not. First rule of a successful website is that it is never finished. But am I close to finished? Well.... uhhh... not really. There's still the introduction on the main page that is still non-existent and the same goes for the "My Interests" section which is empty.

Added a "Contact Me" page containing things like address, telephone number (both normal and mobile), E-Mail and on top of that a panel that connects you directly to me when I'm on-line with ICQ. You can check my on-line status easily by looking at the flower image in the left-hand frame next to the "Contact Me" menu item: if it's green I'm on-line and by clicking on it you'll be transported directly to the ICQ Web Panel. I also added a form where you should have been able to write me a message that would be sent to my mobile phone, but my luck has it that the site that provided that service has locked out external sites from posting data because of several cases of abuse of their (free!) service . You could of course still go to their site and enter things manually, my mobile phone number is mentioned on the "Contact Me" page as well.

Changed all the indexing pages because what I had in mind worked okay, until you started to use the back-button that is. You could actually see that more than one page was being loaded because pressing Back would restore each frame to its previous page on at a time. I wonder if there is a way to make IE (or any browser) see multiple loads as one. Well anyway, it's probably for the best because depending too much (or at all!) on scripts to navigate your site is bound to drive people away if they use a non-scriptable or buggy browser.

First setup of my new site design. Still not much more than a couple of frames and lots of empty pages. I'm waiting for FrontPage 98 to start using style sheets and the like before I'll do much about the way these pages look. This is especially true for things like the What's New pages because of the differences between header and body text.
